![]() I'm definitely not an electrician so that part has me scratching my head. But have yet to see much of the wiring and how the battery hooks up to the mid drive. There are endless videos and pictures of the mid drive install. Also top of the line components so I'm thinking they would handle the 1000w mid drive the best. Both bikes are listed under 1400$ I was drawn to them because they are top of the line and made to take a beating and be ridden hard. ![]() A Santa Cruz nomad and a specialized demo 8. I've found two local buys on Craig's list. So I have been searching for the perfect donor bike for the build. And from what I have read it's just a fancy cyclone system strapped on a Santa Cruz bike. ![]() I really liked the Kranked bikes with the ego mid drive but again there asking price for a bike is more than my car. So here is my plan, build a full suspension mid drive bike with a backpack battery. EspecIally looking at the price point, spending that much on a battery you want to make sure it's the perfect match! Next the battery, wow overwhelming ! So much info and lingo I was completely lost at first but am getting a handle on it now. Though the cyclone sounds awesome and is cheap, the BBSHD seems more reliable and more user friendly, especially for a first timer. I came to the conclusion that the BBSHD MID DRIVE is the way to go. I was now hooked on the DIY idea, to build a better bike for less cost. I test rode an izip peak ds at a local shop and was even more hooked.Īs my online research continued I came across and couldn't help but try and read everything on the site ! All of it was extremely interesting and well written with passion. I came a across products like the haibike and izip. I have been addicted sense! It started with seeing a stealth bomber video, I found out quickly I wouldn't be able to afford it anytime soon, so started looking into cheaper options. This forum is being started to build a knowledge base for kit builders and riders.and as a warm welcoming place for new riders and builders to get involved.įirst introduce myself, I am John and recently started researching and planning an ebike buildĪbout 2months ago I first learned about electric bikes. I find it good luck to start business ventures on major holidays.also this way we never forget when we started it :). ![]() I started this forum on Presidents Day 2016. So i offer wholesale prices to the publiic. i think awesome stuff should not only be available here in the USA.i also believe it should be affordable. was started on July 4th 2015 to provide a retail marketplace for people looking to build their own bikes. I started in 2012, selling performance batteries to boutique builders and performance oritented eibke companies. This forum is not being started to compete with endless sphere but to compliment it in areas where it lacks.for example kit building and commercial bike buying riding and upgrading. I think endless-spehre is an awesome resource and link to it constantly on. However i had big ideas on how i would like to change things, and endless-sphere is very resistance to change. I started in 2012 as just a way to provide knowledge on the cool products out their.I have never been open to advertising and such on and never even accepted gifts from ebike companies etc.Īt the time i was a moderator and an administrator on and i thought i made big contributions. Unfortuanetly Extreme Green Machines went out of business in 2002. one super store in downtown san francisco on market street, one in fisherman's wharf and one in downtown Berkeley. I have been involved in the industry since 2001 when i started a gigantic eibke store called Green Machines which had 3 locations. I am a true believer and really want electric bikes and small electric vehicles to proliferate.
